Thoughts on Piano Music, Nature & Life
Wine and Music
Posted: Thursday July 20, 2006
CHEERS! My latest CD is out and well! Check it out inside my website and grab it for your friends and family. Everybody needs a background music that is flowing nicely, a little jazzy, with a steady sound level that does not interfere with conversations.
The idea of recording this album came to me in march as my wife Pilar and I were having dinner in the great bistro of Summerhill winery in the Okanagan. The grand piano stood there beckoning and as I was stroking the keys, I thought about the relationship of music and wine. On the way back home, I kept reflecting on the many idiosyncrasies of music and wine, of how both, in their own ways, sooth the soul and enchant the senses.
I kept reflecting on the art of wine and music making, on the very process of receiving ideas or harvesting grapes and then giving it all back in such a wonderful creative alchemy.
Music and wine are all about subtle harmonies, notes and color and variations and both are created by passion and inspiration.
Through the ages, like twin magicians, music and wine have brought comfort to the weary soul, bolstered the soldier’s courage and accompanied their other siblings, good food and great company. They are indeed the pillars of all celebrations.
May this new album inspire your own celebration of life, of the joy of being, receiving and giving.
Cheers!
Serge
