Keys To Serenity...
Relaxing music by nature

WHAT CAN MY MUSIC DO FOR YOU?

Serenity is a fickle state....Now it is here and now it is gone. In fact it is a process that may take quite a while . Yet , my music can certainly open the door for you... if you'll accept the keys that is...I did and it certainly seems to work for me...

What it can do for you RIGHT NOW is help you slow down, relax, clear your mind...find or restore your inner peace in the moment... by allowing you to float effortlessly into that safe sacred  space of yours---we all have one--- where the stresses of the world have no power. This is really the key...to access that sacred safe space.

My music seems to do just that for me... both when I create it and when I listen to it again and again in the privacy of my home...Now, you'll probably think I am partial to my own music and you are probably right...although I feel comforted  and encouraged by the dozens and dozens of unsollicited emails and testimonials I get from people all over who tell me of how my music helps them fall asleep, helps their baby calm down, soothes birthing or other challenging moments...Even parrots seem to find my music relaxing!

Beyond it's immediate calming action, it will also act as a cathalist to do more profound work, if you so choose, such as healing the root causes of any emotional imbalance and particularly help you eliminate the number one killer in our society: existential angst ! This is a silent killer, a subtle ennemy that lurks in our subconscious mind and sabotages our life.

Let's face it! In our modern world most of us are living in a toxic soup of anxiety- producing events. Daily worries about financial survival, relationship issues, family worries, health worries, worry about the UNKNOWN, the UNFORSEABLE, a chronic feeling of uncertainty...TIME going by us too fast...worries about increasingly disturbing international events, a steady bombardment of bad news on TV and radio and internet...

This all produces a toxic mental soup that weakens your immune system and leads to dis-ease sooner or later.
A ground breaking book to read on this topic is Bruce Lipton's "The Biology of Belief". (Fear kills )
So, as you see, it is absolutely essential to relax in a sound way to protect your system from stress overload.
There is a plethora of relaxing music on the market nowadays...But please read on and you'll see how my own approach to creating music is pretty unique.

HOW DOES MY MUSIC HELP YOU RELAX ?

Everything around and in us is ...VIBRATION & ENERGY. Once we understand that, we have made a "quantum leap" on our way to understanding life.
Your body, the
cells in your brain, organs and tissue all produce their own music...a specific sound, with a specific frequency. You may want to compare it to an orchestra. A huge orchestra by the way...50 trillion players! They play a wonderful symphony in normal times. Should some musicians or worse, an entire section all of a sudden play out of tune, trouble starts. Pretty soon the symphony will turn to a cacophony
Sometimes, the
conductor himself ---YOU---gets too tense and his distressed vibrations affect the whole orchestra which does not create good music either.

Let's take the brain for instance. Your brain cells vibrate at different frequencies according to various "states" you are in. During your normal state of everyday's functioning you are most likely in beta mode ( 14 to 20 hertz ). To relax you want your brain cells to slow down to the alpha mode, a vibrational frequency that operates at between 8 and13 hertz...or even down to the theta waves which vibrate at four to seven hertz cycles. Experienced meditation practitioners reach that state routinely. We don't want to go lower than that...It could be dangerous for our health!

Since I create my music mostly intuitionally to calm myself down and find my inner peace, besides spending most of my time around water, it is by nature "imprinted" with  these slower calming vibrations. These in turn, will merge with yours and progressivily "entrain" them, meaning bringing your own frequencies to match the vibrations of the music. Here again, you'll find evidence of this in Bruce Lipton's fascinating book The biology of belief--- and also in another book by Candace Pert: The molecules of emotion---)

My own emotions expressed in my music ( anxiety, depression, awe, joy and hope, even bliss) bind with your own state and turn your own depressed vibrations around into positive ones.

It's really all about flow and movement ! ( Emotion comes from the latin root "emovere" which means to move)

That is precisely what makes my intuitional music so powerful and unique compared to generic recordings that are mass manufactured in anonymous big city studios!

Now, back to energy and vibrations. When you are hurt, physically as well as emotionally, the energy in your body, the "chi" as it is called in China, instead of flowing freely, gets blocked in some areas. These blockages can be dissolved through music and sound, as well as through acupuncture, massage, healing touch and more. The huge advantage of music though is that you can access it pretty much at any time of the day and help yourself right here right now!

Sounds vibrate at different frequencies so it is really not far fetched to realize that the appropriate sounds when travelling through ears or tissue can "tune" your tissues back to harmony. The simplest application of this is muscle tension and stiffness--which is often caused by stress and anxiety---By listening to relaxing music, your brain relaxes, sending the appropriate information to the cells of your muscles and tissues, which in turn relax too.

RELAXING BY NATURE

Living on the banks of a river and witnessing it's various moods and changes as the seasons come to pass, I learned many lessons as Siddartha did in Herman Hesse's novel. If I had to remember just one lesson, it would be about the inevitability of change, about the impermanence of things in life...

Seemingly immovable huge rocks disappear from one season to the other... Strong, beautiful salmon fall to pieces ... Yet soon new life feeds on dissolved corpses and the river keeps running... but is it the same river?

No, it is not !

It is unpredictable, dynamic, ever changing...New molecules come into it with rain, snow, ice, water from  other streams... someone's tears perhaps...
The
river of your life too is ever changing, as is "YOU". Your body, your cells, your psyche are in a constant flow...So, in fact as we desperately cling to an image of ourselves, as we hang on to acquired habits or ways of thinking or to our partners in life, we are bound to suffer from anxiety. It's like trying to dam a river!  Chances are we will be anxious perpetually UNLESS...

We learn to become more self -aware, unless we reframe our thinking and change our core attitudes and shift our outlook on our body in relation with the Universe. That too is a key to Serenity.

Reinhold Niebuhr wrote a great poem about Serenity...

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
courage to change the things I can
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time
Enjoying one moment at a time...

It sounds so simple doesn't it? And yet, again and again, the mighty river of life somehow manages to fool us into believing that we can swim against the current, that we can float along indefinitely without moving a paddle... As for wisdom... well, it sure seems quite elusive at times, does it not?

Again and again we get entangled in the web of time, trying to find solace in the past, hope in the future while missing the present entirely.

No wonder there is so much stress and existential anxiety around...

I for one sure can speak of this from personal experience...I did all those things and anxiety is still gnawing at me from time to time, when I am not near water..or playing...This is my life lesson.
As I express my emotions through my music, improvising on the piano, a healing energy magically suffuses it and transforms these emotions into hope, clarity, love and joy. This happens in a totally intuitional way as if I were"channelling" these healing vibrations from the source....the very same energy I absorb during my countless hours spent around rivers lakes and  oceans...

This healing essence from mother Nature seems to blend with the power of my own emotions and creates a synergistic antidote to my anxiety and scatteredness and simply creates wholeness.

WONDERFUL BOOKS TO READ ABOUT THE POWER OF NATURE

I have to tell you here about a man who writes and speaks about Nature and it's amazing powers in a way I would have loved to be able to. His name is Michael Roads. Michael is a modern wizard and a magician with words and I believe the strong impact he has on people comes from having crossed some barriers...with nature. It's authentic...You can feel it. I certainly do.
I like to believe my music comes from where his words come from.
If you are eaten alive by anxiety, read his books they are wonderful and very healing.
( His website is in my links under "Must Read Authors" )

Again, as I said before, the huge advantage of music is that it can be listened to anywhere, anytime. You can escape noise and stress simply by hooking up to your ipod and float away on a wonderful hour long relaxing and healing journey that will make all the difference in the world.

One suggestion... Listen to these CDs over and over... You won't get tired! Promised and Guaranteed! I have had numerous people tell me over and over that they never tire of listening to my music. Now THAT's a compliment!

I can honestly tell you that I feel the same way. Usually when one creates music it looses it's appeal after a while. I surprise myself using my own music again and again when I meditate or take my daily "siesta"!

I guess what this really does for me is lead me to that safe, familiar space ...to which I find myself going back again and again to draw renewed energy and clarity.

Exactly as it does for me, this music will contribute to progressively lead you too, to the elusive path of serenity.

Namaste
